About Bayang Candle

Bayang Candle Enterprise began the way most meaningful things do, quietly, and from the heart.

In 2002, Emerson and his wife Harieta founded the business together with ₱10,000, a small production space beside their family home in Cainta, Rizal, and a deep belief that a well-made candle could bring warmth and meaning to any space. They worked with their own hands, poured every candle with care, and built something that people noticed.

Word spread. Customers came back. And by 2004, Bayang Candle had opened its first official showroom, a milestone that felt like proof that what they were doing truly mattered.

Like any growing business, the road wasn't always smooth. In 2007, rising raw material costs and growing competition put the business to the test. But Emerson and Harieta held firm, choosing craftsmanship over shortcuts, and resilience over giving up.

Then in 2012, Emerson passed away. It was the hardest chapter the business and the family had ever faced. But Harieta carried on. She kept the production going, kept the standards high, and kept the flame that she and Emerson had lit together burning bright.

The years that followed brought recognition that reflected all those quiet mornings of hard work. Bayang Candle was featured on TV Patrol's Undas 2014 special and received some of the Philippines' most prestigious industry awards, including:

  • Best Quality Design Candle Maker in Rizal (Golden Globe Annual Awards for Business Excellence)

  • Best Trusted Design Candle Maker in Rizal

  • Best Candle Manufacturer in the Philippines (Q Asia Magazine – Best Choice Awards)

Today, Bayang Candle continues to grow with eyes set on reaching homes beyond the Philippines while staying rooted in the values that started it all: care, craftsmanship, and sincerity in every candle made.

Emerson was the heart behind Bayang Candle. In 2002, he started the business alongside his wife Harieta with a small capital, a production space beside their home, and a vision to create candles that truly meant something. His dedication to quality and craftsmanship laid the foundation that the business still stands on today. Emerson passed away in 2012, but his legacy lives on in every candle that bears the Bayang name.

And the reason that legacy lives on? Harieta. When Emerson passed in 2012, she was left to carry everything on her own, and she did. There were no shortcuts, no safety nets, and no one beside her the way there used to be. She rolled up her sleeves and rebuilt Bayang Candle from almost nothing, through seasons most people don't talk about and wouldn't wish on anyone. But she didn't just bring it back, she made it better. And then kept making it better. More than a decade later, she's still here, still hands-on, still growing the business, and still pouring the same love into every candle that she and Emerson started with.
